The Allen-Bradley 5069-OA16 is a Compact 5000 Discrete output module. This module features Sixteen (16) single group discrete output channels that operates at voltage range of 85-264VAC, 47-63 Hz. It provides output current of 0.5 A per channel and maximum of 4 A per module. This module may be used as Local I/O or distributed I/O component. It uses 5069-RTB18-SPRING RTB and 5069-RTB18-SCREW RTB.

The Allen-Bradley 5069-OA16 is a Compact 5000 I/O module. This module is specifically a Sixteen (16) channel discrete output module that is used to energize or actuate electrical loads connected to any of its output channels. Common electrical components connected to an output module include indicating devices such as pilot lamps; sounding devices like siren, horn and buzzer; actuating devices such as relay coils, contactors, motor starts, solenoid driven devices and other devices.

The 5069-OA16 operates provides an output voltage ranging from 85-264VAC with frequency of 47-63 Hz with nominal output voltage of 120 / 240 VAC. Each channel has a maximum output current of 0.5 A and maximum output current of 4 A per module. This module has signal delay of 1/2 cycle time (typ) @ 0...60 °C (32…140 °F) for both transitions. It has a pilot duty rating of 0.5A for resistive and general pilot duty.

In the event of module fault or controller fault, program mode and fault mode this module has a selectable option to whether Hold the last output state, latch ON the output or turn OFF the output. The default setting is OFF for this setting. This module also has a selectable duration of fault mode per point 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s and Forever.

This module has MOD power of 100 mA @ 18-32V DC; Maximum MOD Power Passthrough of 9.55 A @ 18-32V DC; SA Power of 4 A @ 85-264V AC and maximum SA power passthrough of 9.975 A @ 85-264V AC. This module requires use of a removable terminal block for terminating signals. Compatible RTBs are 5069-RTB18-SPRING RTB and 5069-RTB18-SCREW RTB.

The 5069-OA16 is compatible for use as local and remote output modules for Allen-Bradley CompactLogix 5380, Compact GuardLogix 5380 controllers and other Logix 5000 controllers. To use this module, field wiring must be connected to the separately purchased Removable Terminal Block (RTB). Compatible RTB are 5069-RTB18-SCREW and 5069-RTB18-SPRING connections. For screw connection, compatible recommended wire size is 0.5-1.5 mm2 (22-16 AWG) solid or stranded shielded copper wire rated at 105 °C (221 °F), or greater, 3.5 mm (0.14 in.) max diameter including insulation, single wire connection only. For a spring clamp RTB, recommended wire size is 0.5-1.5 mm2 (22-16 AWG) solid or stranded shielded copper wire rated at 105 °C (221°F), or greater, 2.9 mm (0.11 in.) max diameter including insulation, single wire connection only. Each channel of the 5069-OA16 has an output current of 0.5A while the maximum output current of the entire module is 4A. This module has a shared common wherein, the return wiring must be terminated to the SA (-) terminal of the Removable Terminal Block. This module is configured using the Studio 5000 Logix designer.
