Similar to other output modules, this module is mainly used to energize and actuate electrical loads. However, the 5069-OB16 is compatible with devices that operates at voltage category of 12/24VDC. This module has a minimum On-state voltage of 10VDC and maximum of 32VDC with minimum On-state current of 1 mA per channel. Each channel has an output delay time of ? 100 µs, ±10 µs @ 25 °C (77 °F) @ 0.5 A for On to Off and Off to On transitions. The module’s output has a minimum pulse width of 200 µs @ 0.5 A @ 25 °C (77 °F).

The 5069-OB16 internally features Filed Power Loss detection, No Load detection for each channel and individual Output short circuit, Output overload and overtemperature detection per channel. It is also equipped with Reverse polarity detection and Overvoltage detection with rating of 36VDC. This module has internal fuse protection.

The 5069-OB16 outputs can be controlled even if the controller or module has entered Fault mode, Program mode and fault state. Configurable states include Hold Last State, On and Off which is the default setting.
