The Allen-Bradley 5069-OF8 is a Compact 5000 analog output module. This module is compatible for use with CompactLogix 5000 controllers as local and distributed I/O modules and with ControlLogix controller as Distributed I/O modules only.

The 5069-OF8 is provided with Eight (8) analog output channels. Each channel is configurable for Voltage and Current output signals. Output signals include ± 10VDC, 0-10VDC and 0-5VDC for Voltage and 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA for Current signals. It has resolution of 16 bits across ± 10.5V - 320 µV/bit; 16 bits across 10.5V - 160 µV/bit; 16 bits across 5.25V - 80 µV/bit and 16 bits across 21 mA - 320 nA/bit. This module is capable of detecting open circuit when operating in Current mode and detect short-circuit when operating in Voltage mode. This module converts digital data back to analog data for use in actual process via the built-in R-Ladder Digital to Analog (DAC) converter, monotonicity with no mossing codes. This module has a conversion time per output channel of 25 µs and scan time of 1.0 ms for channels 0-3 and 2.0 ms for channels 4-7.

The 5069-OF8 may be used to drive and actuate modulating devices such as valves, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Dampers and other actuators. It may also be used to re-transmit signals to receiving elements such as panel meters, data loggers and recorders. This module may also be linked with the partner controller’s Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) controller to implement manual and fully automatic control of an analog control loop.

The 5069-OF8 module has output voltage ranges of +/- 10V, 0-10V, and 0-5V and output current ranges of 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA. It has a MOD power bus voltage range and a Passthrough voltage range of 18-32V DC for both voltages, a maximum current of 75 mA, and a maximum current rating of 9.55 A. Its sensor actuator or SA Field Power voltage range and Power bus Passthrough voltage range are 18-32V DC for both voltage ranges, its maximum current rating is 9.95 A, and its maximum Field Power current is 250 mA. The 5069-OF8 module also has a maximum thermal dissipation of 18.1 BTU/hour, as well as a maximum power dissipation of 5.3 W. This module has resolutions of 16 bits across ± 10.5V - 320 µV/bit, of 16 bits across 10.5V - 160 μV/bit, of 16 bits across 5.25V - 80 µV/bit, and of 16 bits across 21 mA - 320 nA/bit. Its maximum inductive load at current mode is 1 mH and its maximum capacitive load at voltage mode is 1 µF. Its drive capabilities are a maximum of 500 ? for the current and a minimum 1000 ? for the voltage. The 5069-OF8’s maximum overvoltage protection is 32V DC.
