The Allen-Bradley 5094-AENTR is a communication adapter from the Flex 5000 I/O series. This module features Two (2) RJ45 ports for Ethernet connectivity with built-in LED status indicators, IP address rotary switches, PRP / DLR switch, and a removable power RTB. It supports Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology on both ethernet ports via the built-in PRP switch. This module is mainly used for implementing distributed I/O applications.

The Allen-Bradley 5094-AENTR is a Flex 500 communication adapter. This module functions as the header module of a Flex 5000 I/O assembly, enabling the implementation of distributed I/O architecture. It comes with Two (2) Ethernet network communication interfaces in the form of RJ45 ports, supporting Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. PRP is one of the modern approaches in implementing high-availability and fault-tolerant industrial communication. This feature is available with the 5094-AENTR adapters only, not found in earlier Flex I/O products. Additionally, the 5094-AENTR continues to support Device Level Ring (DLR) topology where the module’s dual Ethernet ports act as integrated switches utilizing a single IP address. With DLR topology, an alternative communication path is provided where data can be transmitted when the primary path has failed. This topology operates at a single ethernet segment. The 5094-AENTR is powered by an external supply voltage of 18-32 VDC along 120 mA current supply. It supports mounting to a DIN rail with recommended DIN rail type of zinc-plated, chromate-passivated steel DIN rail to ensure continuous grounding connection. Built-in removable terminal block (RTB) is provided with the module which can be replaced with 5094-AENRTB-QTY5 screw-type terminal in packs of 5 and 5094-AENRTBS-QTY5 spring type in packs of 5 as well. This module measures 92.7 (H) x 94.0 (W) x 96.5 (D) mm (3.65 x 3.70 x 3.80 in.).

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation industrial adapter known as the 5094-AENTR adapter is part of the FLEX 5000 product series. The adapter installs to an EN60715 DIN rail and an open type of enclosure which is typical for FLEX 5000 components. The 5094-AENTR adapter has a weight of 400 grams (0.88 pounds) and dimensions that include a height of 92.7 millimeters (3.65 inches), a width of 94 millimeters (3.7 inches), and a depth of 96.5 millimeters (3.8 inches). The adapter uses standard 22 to 14 AWG copper wires and it comes with a removable terminal block (RTB).

The 5094-AENTR adapter has an insulation voltage rating of 300 Volts (continuous) for its basic insulation type and it does not include Ethernet port isolation. The adapter is intended for voltage from 18 to 32 Volts DC and its current rating is 1250 milliAmps. The 5094-AENTR adapter has the same inrush MP voltage rating and 3200 milliAmps for the 100 milliseconds inrush MP current rating. The unit dissipates a maximum power of 5.1 Watts at 18 Volts DC and its maximum thermal dissipation is 17.4 BTU per hour at 24 Volts DC. It should be noted that the adapter of this type is equipped with RJ45 ports. The terminal block torque for the functional earth terminal is 0.5 N-m or 4.4 pounds on an inch. Besides that, the terminal block torque for the screw-type power RTB is 0.4 N-m (3.5 pounds on an inch). The spring-type RTB is not applicable for this adapter. The 5094-AENTR adapter has 8 millimeters (0.3 inches) of insulation stripping length of its functional earth terminal.
