Information About 8030-CRM-250
Using the Sy/Max local and remote modules, both digital and register racks can be located remotely from a Sy/Max processor. The modules enable communication with the microprocessor over a two pair, twisted, shielded cable.
The 8030 Type CRM-250 Local IO/Net Interface is a local I/O network component in the Passport I/O system. The Passport I/O system components are the Sy/Max Class 8030 Type CRM-250 Local IO/Net Interface Module (LIO), the Sy/Max Class 8030 Type CRM-260 Remote Interface Module (RIO), the Sy/Max Class 8030 Type CRM-270 Distributed Remote IO/Net Interface Module (DRIO), and the IO/Net link.
The PASSPORT I/O System enables up to 32 connection points to be networked over a LAN, providing a maximum of 4096 registers of external I/O in a single Sy/Max programmable controller system.
The local/remote I/O interface system is a serial, multi-channel, multi-drop system. The local interface receives instructions from the microprocessor and transmits the instructions to the remote interface.
In environments where lighting or induced transients over communication lines are likely to cause hardware failures, signal line protection devices can be installed.
To prevent possible equipment damage, remove power from all local and remote racks before inserting or removing any components including the interface modules and communication cables.
