Information About 8030-CRM-580
The CRM-580 Transfer Network Interface Module (TNIM) manages the redundancy technology required for critical applications. If the primary controller fails, the CRM-580 transfers the Sy/Net communication route of the primary controller to the backup controller. Any communication rungs in the redundant processor pair can be identical, which reduces the program size and scan time.
The CRM-580 can operate with Sy/Max processors that use the Class 8030 Type CRM-230 and Type CRM-232 Transfer Interface System. You can also use the CRM-580 with any Sy/Max controller that can issue a priority write or alarm command with a communication route of 200.
Two CRM-580 modules operating as a pair transfer the primary controllers network communication route. The CRM-580 pair consist of an even-addressed module and an odd-addressed module. The addresses are assigned to each CRM-580 using the thumbwheels accessed from the side of the module.
The CRM-580 modules differ from other Sy/Net modules in that the CRM-580 can assume two address spaces on the network.
The CRM-580 consists of a module that mounts in a register slot in a Sy/Max I/O rack and draws power from the rack. The front of the device has eight LEDs, two switches, and two communication ports (COMM ports).
The COMM ports provide serial communications. The COMM port 0 is reserved for the CRM-580 to CRM-580 link. The COMM port 1 is used for connecting the primary and backup Sy/Max controllers.
