The 8520-ETCP unit is an OCI interface module of the 9/Series, which has been manufactured by Allen Bradley. It can also be used to form a bridge between the CNC of the 9/Series and an Ethernet TCP/IP compatible network. It is especially used for systems with module/data servers. It is an add-on circuit board. Data can be stored inside the 8520-ETCP, as well as transferred from it to another device such as a computer. It also transfers commands from the conversion module to a CNC system. Thus, it is used for transferring commands, storing and transferring data. The 8520-ETCP creates a connection between SAP PM systems and the repair, maintenance, or operation systems to indicate the part that needs to be worked on during any of the mentioned processes. The information extracted or shared is used for understanding any errors or abnormalities in the manufacturing processes, which can then be repaired. Technicians do not need to enter manual information when using the 8520-ETCP, even if non-stocked items are involved.
