The AK-R2-120P1K2 dynamic brake kit can also be used for 600 Volts AC input rated drives. For such drives, the kit can be used with drives rated for 2.2 kilowatts, 4 kilowatts, 5.5 kilowatts and 7.5 kilowatts. The continuous power rating for such applications is 0.26 kilowatts and the maximum energy rating is 52 kilojoules.

AC drives from Allen-Bradley do not offer the required protection for external brake resistors such as the AK-R2-120P1K2 dynamic brake kit. This is especially true if a brake IGBT fails.
