Product Description P/N: ATV312HU40M3
Description
Altivar ATV312 variable frequency drives (VFD) provide a compact, cost effective adjustable speed control for asynchronous motors from 0.25 to 20 HP. It is suitable for industrial machines such as materials handling and packaging, packing, textile machines, special machines, pumps and fans. It has a compact form-factor with 142mm width, allowing for a flexible and easy installation on a mounting plate. It also offers a snap-lock seal, status and faults display and a jog dial navigation button. It offers high readability of key parameters thanks to a bright LED 4-digit display. SoMove software compatibility enables saving and transfering of configurations to spare drive, reducing maintenance downtime.

Information About ATV312HU40M3
Basic functions
What are the drive thermal protection functions? The thermal protection function by the PTC probe that is set up on the heatsink. Thermal protection by the PTC can be integrated into the power module. The drive has indirect thermal protection against overloads by tripping when an overcurrent occurs. The typical tripping values are as follows: Motor current = 185% of nominal drive current: 2 seconds - Motor current = 150% of nominal drive current: 60 seconds
Drive ventilation
A fan starts up when the drive is powered up. If a run command has not been received within 10 seconds, the fan will shut down. Automatic power is sent to the fan on unlocking (direction of operation + reference). It is powered down a few seconds after the drive is locked (motor speed < 0.2 Hz and injection braking completed).
Motor thermal protection
The thermal protection function is found by calculating the I2t. The protection takes into consideration self-cooled motors.
Compatibility of functions
The ATV312HU40M3 employs logic and analog input application functions. Which functions can be assigned to one of the inputs? A single input can activate several functions at the same time. An example of this is reverse and 2nd ramp can activate at the same time. Be sure to check that the functions assigned are compatible. The [MONITORING] (SUP-) menu ([[LOGIC INPUT CONF.]] (LIA-) parameter and [[ANALOG INPUTS IMAGE]] (AIA-) parameter can be used to display the functions assigned to each input to check their compatibility.
Before you assign a reference, command, or function for the Schneider Electric ATV312HU40M3 to a logic or analog input, you must check that this input has not already been assigned within the factory settings. Also, make sure that no other input has been assigned to an incompatible or unwanted function.
Each assignment below lists the factory-set input assignments and the procedure for unassigning them.
Assigned input: LI2, Function: Run reverse, Code: rrS, to unassign, set to: nO.
Assigned input: LI3, Function: 2 preset speeds, Code: PS2, to unassign, set to nO.
Assigned input: LI4, Function: 4 preset speeds, Code: PS4, to unassign, set to nO.
Assigned input: AI1, Function: Reference 1, Code: Fr1, to unassign, set to Anything but AI1.
Assigned input: LI1, Function: Run forward, Code: tCC, to unassign, set to: 2C or 3C.
Assigned input: AI2, Function: Summing input 2, Code: SA2, to unassign, set to: nO.
