Product Description P/N: BK1120
Description
The BK1120 EtherCAT Bus Coupler serves as the intermediary between the EtherCAT protocol at the fieldbus level and the Bus Terminals. Its primary function involves converting telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to the internal terminal bus, independent of the fieldbus. A station comprises a coupler and can accommodate up to 64 Bus Terminals along with a bus end terminal. The EtherCAT system's process image is automatically assigned. Additionally, the coupler supports connection of up to 255 Bus Terminals via the K-Bus extension.

Information About BK1120
The BK1120 EtherCAT Coupler serves as the intermediary link between the EtherCAT protocol at the fieldbus level and the Bus Terminals. It facilitates the conversion of passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to the internal, fieldbus-independent terminal bus. A station comprises a coupler and up to 64 Bus Terminals alongside a bus end terminal. The process image of the EtherCAT system is automatically assigned. The BK1120 supports connectivity for up to 255 Bus Terminals via the K-Bus extension.
The BK1120 is equipped with two RJ45 sockets. The upper Ethernet interface establishes the connection between the coupler and the network, while the lower socket allows for the optional connection of additional EtherCAT devices within the same segment.
The system and field supply, each rated at 24 V DC, are directly provided at the coupler. The attached Bus Terminals receive the necessary current for communication from the supplied system voltage. The field supply is distributed to the individual I/O components via the power contacts, supporting currents of up to 10 A.
In the EtherCAT network, the EK1120 coupler can be installed anywhere in the Ethernet signal transfer section (100BASE-TX), with the exception of directly at the switch. For installations at the switch, the EK9000 and EK1000 couplers are recommended.
