Information About BMXDDI3202K
The Schneider Electric BMXDDI3202K is within the Modicon X80 product range in industrial automation and control systems. It is engineered to meet the demands of diverse industrial automation and control applications. It excels in delivering high-performance capabilities for discrete input functions, catering to a wide spectrum of systems and processes.
Product Overview
As part of the Modicon X80 series, the BMXDDI3202K stands as a discrete input, equipped with 32 discrete input channels. These inputs are isolated, offering robust performance and reliability in industrial settings. The module operates on a 24 V DC voltage supply, with a discrete input logic that is positive. Each discrete input channel handles a current of 2.5 mA.
Complementary Features
The BMXDDI3202K is designed with compatibility in mind, readily accommodating 2-wire and 3-wire proximity sensors that adhere to IEC 60947-5-2 and IEC 61131-2 Type 1 standards. It accepts sensor power supply voltages within the range of 19 to 30 V, ensuring flexibility in sensor integration.
The module maintains stringent logic levels, guaranteeing a current of 2 mA or higher for logic level 1 and equal to or less than 0.5 mA for logic level 0. Its input impedance measures 9600 Ohms, contributing to its precision in input signal processing. It offers enhanced safety with insulation resistance surpassing 10 MOhms at 500 V DC.
The BMXDDI3202K boasts a power dissipation of 3.9 W and exhibits an impressive DC response time of 4 ms (with a maximum of 7 ms). It does not allow input paralleling, ensuring precise data handling. The module consumes 121 mA at 3.3 V DC and demonstrates outstanding reliability with a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) rating of 905,000 hours.
Protection features are integral to its design, incorporating external fuses per group of channels rated at 0.5 A fast blow, as well as reverse polarity protection. The module detects sensor faults at voltages below 14 V DC and signals sensor functionality at voltages exceeding 18 V DC. Status LEDs provide essential feedback, including a green LED for module operating status (RUN), green LEDs for channel diagnostics, and two red LEDs for module errors (ERR) and module I/O.
Environmental Specifications
In terms of environmental robustness, the BMXDDI3202K excels with an IP20 degree of protection, safeguarding against solid objects and dust. It aligns with the 2014/35/EU low voltage directive and the 2014/30/EU electromagnetic compatibility directive.
With a dielectric strength of 1500 V AC at 50/60 Hz for 1 minute between primary and secondary circuits, and a capability to withstand 500 V DC for 1 minute between groups of channels, the module ensures electrical integrity. It remains resilient against vibrations up to 3 gn and can endure shocks up to 30 gn.
Operational versatility is evident in its temperature range, operating from 0°C to 60°C, and it can be stored in conditions ranging from -40°C to 85°C. The module functions seamlessly in relative humidity conditions spanning from 5% to 95% at 55°C, without the risk of condensation. It is suitable for operation at altitudes up to 2000 meters, and for altitudes exceeding 2000 meters, derating factors should be considered, up to a maximum altitude of 5000 meters.
In conclusion, the Schneider Electric BMXDDI3202K discrete input module serves as a robust and dependable component in industrial automation and control systems. With its substantial number of isolated inputs, adherence to industry standards, comprehensive protection features, and resilience to environmental factors, it emerges as a prime choice for applications necessitating precise discrete input monitoring and control. Whether in manufacturing, process control, or any industrial setting, this module guarantees the reliability and performance required for efficient operations.
