Description 

Line, tree or star: EtherCAT supports almost any topology. If a star topology requires several branches at a particular point, the 8-way CU1128 EtherCAT junction can be used instead of several EK1122 devices. Port 1 is the input port for the network. Further EK1100 or EtherCAT Box modules can be connected at ports 2 to 8. The EtherCAT junctions are connected via RJ45 sockets with direct display of link and activity status.

The BECKHOFF CU1128 is a versatile EtherCAT infrastructure component designed for coupling EtherCAT junctions within industrial automation systems. It supports data transfer over Ethernet/EtherCAT cables (min. Cat.5), providing reliable connectivity through its 8 RJ45 bus interfaces.

With a maximum distance of 100 meters between stations (100BASE-TX), the CU1128 ensures efficient communication. Operating on the EtherCAT protocol, it boasts a low delay of approximately 1 µs per port and achieves data transfer rates of 100 Mbit/s.

Configuration is not required, simplifying the setup process. The infrastructure component is powered by a 24V DC supply (18-30V DC), with a typical current consumption of 185 mA. The compact dimensions of 122 mm x 100 mm x 38 mm facilitate easy integration into control systems.

Operating temperature ranges from -25°C to +60°C, with storage temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, ensuring robust performance in varying environmental conditions. The CU1128 conforms to industry standards for vibration/shock resistance (EN 60068-2-6/EN 60068-2-27) and EMC immunity/emission (EN 61000-6-2/EN 61000-6-4).
