Product Description P/N: DS200SIOBH1A

Description / Specifications

Description

The GE I/O Control Board DS200SIOBH1A is equipped with twenty jumpers and three switch blocks, each containing six switches, totaling 18 switches. Additionally, it features one LED light and one 40-pin connector. Some connectors on the board can be synchronized and connected using ribbon cables, which transmit signals from the board to other components and receive signals for processing.

Maintaining the integrity of the ribbon cable is crucial for signal transmission. Care must be taken when handling the cable to avoid damaging the connection between the ribbon and the plastic connector. It is recommended to grip the plastic connector firmly with one hand while pulling it out of the board's connector.

The routing of the cable inside the drive is essential to prevent signal interference from electrical currents. By positioning the cable away from cables carrying current, interference can be minimized. However, improper cable routing may obstruct airflow necessary for cooling the components within the drive, as they generate heat during operation. Therefore, attention to proper cable routing is necessary to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the drive system.

Information About DS200SIOBH1A

The GE I/O Control Board DS200SIOBH1A is a component featuring twenty jumpers and three switch blocks, each block containing six switches, resulting in a total of 18 switches. In addition, it is equipped with one LED light and one 40-pin connector. Certain connectors on the DS200SIOBH1A allow synchronization and connection with ribbon cables, which serve to transmit signals from the board to other components within the drive system. These ribbon cables comprise multiple small wires facilitating signal transmission to and from the board for processing. Ensuring the integrity of the ribbon cable is imperative for reliable signal transmission. Care must be exercised during cable handling to prevent damage to the connection between the ribbon and the plastic connector. The recommended practice involves firmly gripping the plastic connector with one hand while securely removing it from the connector on the board.

Attention to cable routing within the drive system is essential as it can impact signal integrity. Electrical currents present in adjacent cables can induce interference in the signals carried by the ribbon cable. Thus, routing the cable away from cables carrying current can mitigate interference. However, it is crucial to balance cable routing considerations with the need for proper airflow within the drive system. Improper cable routing may impede airflow, which is crucial for dissipating heat generated by drive components during operation. Adequate airflow facilitates efficient cooling of drive components, thus maintaining optimal operating temperatures and ensuring system reliability. Therefore, careful consideration of cable routing is necessary to strike a balance between signal integrity and cooling efficiency within the drive system.
