Information About DS3800AIOD

Speedtronic systems include the Mark I, the Mark II, the Mark IV, the Mark V, and both the Mark VI and Mark VIe. The Mark IV was the first of these systems to offer TMR (triple modular redundant) control.

The DS3800AIOD board is designed to work in conjunction with other General Electric circuit boards, using connectors that are designed to interface with plug-in cabling. Previous generations of Speedtronic systems relied on terminal strips and other interfaces with screw-type mounting. However, the Mark IV system’s use of plug-in cabling ensures faster maintenance and replacement of components.

The Mark IV system uses distributed microprocessors that allow the turbine to continue to run under the control of one module even as another module is in a state of failure, forced outage, or in the process of maintenance or replacement. This design feature of the Mark IV system significantly reduces downtime for the turbine system and consequently increased efficiency. Modules are designed with the most heavily used modules close to the panel door for faster access and so that these modules can more easily be maintained and switched out.
