The GE Dual Communications Control Board DS3800HCMA also is populated with 20 jumpers, and 1 amber and 2 red indicator LEDs. The board also has 2 34-pin connectors, and multiple capacitors.

The indicator LEDs on the GE Dual Communications Control Board DS3800HCMA give the operator a fast and easy method of monitoring the processing health of the board. If the red LED is lit, it indicates that an error condition has occurred. If 1 or both of the amber LEDs are lit, it indicates that an alert has occurred and that further investigation is required. In either case, further diagnosing is required to find the problem. The drive comes with diagnostic tools that enable a servicer or qualified individual to pointpoint the source of an error or alert condition. Use the control panel on the drive to access the diagnostic tools. The control panel is a menu-driven interface. It produces an online report on the processing activities and the health of the components. It also provides a list of all error conditions and trip conditions. Trip conditions are conditions that have caused the drive to automatically shutdown.

You can also use the test points to check each circuit on the board with a testing device. This is performed by a qualified servicer. The testing device must be in good condition and calibrated to perform the circuit testing.
