Description 

The DS3800HFPB is a turbine control processor board. General Electric produced it to be part of the series of Mark IV turbine controls. The Mark series has handled all parts of turbine operation, including operation and safety, since Mark I was created in 1968.

A black connector port is on one side of the board. The forty-pin male connector port connects the circuit board to other computer components. There are many integrated circuits located all around the board. Many different types of circuit parts are found on every integrated circuit. Located on every integrated circuit are very small resistors, diodes and other devices. There are several small blue capacitors throughout the board. Capacitors, also known as condensators or condensers, are electrical parts that store energy in an electrical field. On one side of the circuit card is a series of light-emitting diodes with red lights. Diodes are circuit components which send energy in one single direction. They have low resistance in one direction and high direction in the other direction. These light-emitting diodes alert the user to any problems with the part. There are four jumpers that have blue jumper pins on the right side of the card. These jumpers are useful for connecting two pins and for creating an electric connection between them. These jumpers can alter the settings of a circuit card. Written on the bottom side of the card is the name of the device, DS3800HFPB.
