Information About DS3800HSCG1D1E
The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE High Level Isolator Board DS3800HSCG1D1E also is populated with 8 jumpers and 1 trimmer resistor. The board also is populated with 1 34-pin connector with retention levers and 1 programmable interrupt controller.
The GE High Level Isolator Board DS3800HSCG1D1E is populated with only 1 34-pin connector that requires you to connect a 34-pin ribbon cable to it. For this reason, installation of the board is easy. You slide the board into the rack and press it into the rack with your thumbs to connect the modular connector. Press down on the retention levers to secure it.
However, the drive must always be disconnected from power before you begin the installation. This requires you to know how the drive is connected to power and how to safely disconnect the electricity.
Then, connect the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable must be routed properly inside the drive. This means keeping it from blocking the air vents on the top and bottom of the drive. The bottom vents are where the cool air enters the drive. It passes over the drive components and exits the drive as hot air from the air vents at the top. Blocking the air vents allows the drive to heat up which causes the drive to automatically shutdown. The automatic shutdown saves the drive from damage. A threshold is defined for the temperature at which to shutdown the drive.
