A prominent feature of the DS3800NPID1F1F is a large grey metal plate mounted perpendicularly to the board. This plate has three large silver transistors adjacent to the board's surface, and a large silver diode connected by grey wires. Additionally, a large inductor, or coil, is also attached to the metal plate and connected to the board with wires.

On the right edge of the DS3800NPID1F1F, there are two large grey rectangular resistors, each rated at 10 watts. Along one edge of the board, there are thirty-seven small yellow resistor networks, each numbered in white. Near these resistor networks, two small transistors are paired together.
