Information About DS3800NSCD
The DS3800NSCD is a printed circuit board (PCB) specifically designed as a Speed or Current card for GE’s Mark IV series, which is primarily utilized in gas and/or steam turbine management systems. The Mark IV Speedtronic system is characterized by its triple redundant backups on all critical controls and protection parameters, aimed at minimizing downtime caused by electronics failure.
A distinctive feature of the DS3800NSCD is its array of ten rotary potentiometers, positioned in a line parallel to the right edge of the board. Each potentiometer is individually marked, starting from R1 and labeled for various functions such as Speed Feedback, Speed Gain, Reference, Reverse Current Limit, Forward Current Limit, Current Gain, Current Limit Bias, Current Limit Slope, Aux 1, and Aux 2. Potentiometers facilitate voltage division, enabling precise adjustment of parameters. Additionally, the board includes a single TP test point located at the end of the potentiometer line, denoted as “TST.”
The DS3800NSCD features drilled corners with alignment markings and is designated with the marking 6BA03. Extractor clips are installed in each right corner to aid technicians during insertion or extraction, providing leverage and preventing direct contact with the board surface to safeguard components and circuitry integrity.
