Information About DS3820PIMB
The MKIV is designed for gas/steam turbine management. It is built upon a framework of integrated microcomputers that monitor the turbine twenty-four hours a day for issues like over temperature, high pressure, and over speed. The microcomputer system also automates procedures like startup and shutdown, speed control, and control sequencing.
The DS3820PIMB is a modification built upon two PCBs, including a DS3800NPSM. This modification is the addition of a Speedtronic interface panel that fits around a display. This display allows the user to control and interact with the turbine system. The panel has ten sections, not including the cutout for the display panel. These include sections labeled DISPLAY MODE, EXECUTE, DISPLAY KEYPAD, ALARM, PRINTER, DISPLAY CURSOR, DISPLAY FUNCTIONS, AUXILIARY DISPLAY, OPERATION, and EMERGENCY STOP. The panel connects to the framework using eight screws that fit through eight factory drilled holes.
The back of the panel is fitted with two PCBs that control the functions of the board. The lower board connects and communicates with the panel via a ribbon cable. It is mounted to the panel with the components facing inward. The other board is a DS3800NPSM board. This connects to the lower board via six wires that plug into six-pin headers located on both boards.
The DS3800NPSM is built with 1 fuse, four transistors (including two fitted with heat sinks,) three high-current inductors, one toggle switch, two circuits, one jumper switch, two LEDs (one amber, one red,) and two 6-pin header connectors. The board has multiple capacitors, including a large blue through-hole capacitor. Resistors are both carbon composite and ceramic-covered metal film.
