Information About DS4815COME
The DS4815COME board is a modified Mark IV board with some higher-level components added to its surface. This board was manufactured by GE as part of the company’s Mark IV industrial turbine control system, used for steam and gas turbines. The MKIV is used for around-the-clock protection from issues like fire, Overspeed, vibration, and high pressure. It was the first of the many Speedtronic systems that offered triple modular redundant controllers independently making decisions in a 2-out-of-3 voting architecture as a way to improve reliability.
The DS4815COME is built upon a modified DS3800 board. The unit is factory drilled at each corner point. The edges are marked for alignment. Additionally, the board includes several codes on its surface that should offer additional information regarding the proper location for installation as well as proper wiring. The unit has extractor clips installed in its two leading corners. These offer several advantages; one, it gives installers a place to hold the board during installation. Extractor clips also can pull the board from its location within the rack when it’s time to replace the board. Finally, the clips help secure the board in place after it has been installed.
Other components on the surface of the DS4815COME include LED indicators on its leading-edge, test points, resistor network arrays, Augat connectors, and jumper switches. The board also has multiple integrated circuits like NOR gates and hex/quad d-type flip-flops.
