The EA9-T8CL by Automation Direct is an 8-inch color TFT LCD touch screen HMI from the C-more EA9 series. With an 800 x 600 pixel SVGA resolution and analog resistive touch technology, it offers precise interaction. The LED backlight ensures a clear display. Featuring (3) serial ports, (1) Ethernet, (2) USB ports, (1) memory card slot, and (1) audio line out, this HMI provides robust connectivity and versatile functionality for industrial applications.

The display viewing area is 6.71” x 5.03”. The weight of this unit is 2.93 lbs. The typical display brightness is 310 nits typical. The LCD panel dot pitch is 0.213 mm x 0.213 mm. The screen pixels are 800 x 600 (SVGA). The color scale is 65, 536 colors and the average backlight lifetime is 50,000 hours at 25°C. The project memory, which is 26 MB, supports up to 999 screens.

There is a clock that is built into the panel that is backed up for 30 days at 25°C. There are three serial ports on the display and 2 USB ports. There is also an SD card slot, but there is no HDMI video out port. The SD card slot supports a 2 GB or a 32 GB SD card. There is a mic in 3.5 mm mini-jack. The power consumption is 18.0 watts, 1.5 amps at 12 VDC, and 0.75 amps at 24 VDC. The internal fuse, which is non-replaceable, is 6.3 amps.

This Automation Direct touch screen can withstand no more than 1 minute of 1000 VAC between the FG and the power supply (lightning strike). EN55011 Class A is the emission standard. The enclosure is a NEMA 250 type 4/4X enclosure for indoor use only (IP65). This display works up to an altitude of 2000 meters (6562 feet). This unit is UL508 approved.

The EA9-T8CL EA9 C-more panel can be set to display a number of different languages. This can be changed in the Panel Manager. The Panel Manager can be found by selecting “Setup” in the Main Menu and dropping down to Panel Manager, or through the Navigation window by clicking on the Function tab
