The EL6001 is an EtherCAT Terminal featuring a 1-channel communication interface designed specifically for serial communication using the RS232 standard. This interface facilitates the connection of devices equipped with RS232 interfaces and operates in accordance with the CCITT V.28/DIN 66 259-1 standards.

Devices connected to the EL6001 EtherCAT Terminal communicate with the automation device through the coupler. The active communication channel functions independently of the higher-level bus system, operating in full duplex mode at speeds of up to 115.2 kbaud. This ensures efficient and simultaneous transmission and reception of data.

An essential feature of the RS232 interface is its provision of high immunity to interference.
