Information About 95DSS3-1

The 95DSS3-1 is part of the Fireye InSight II Type 95DSS3 family of microprocessor-based integrated flame scanners developed for demanding single- and multi-burner combustion applications. Its NEMA 4X/IP66/IP67 enclosure contains independent UV and IR solid-state sensors, programmable flame-processing electronics, internal safety relays, analog outputs, electronic self-checking, and selectable flame discrimination parameters without requiring a separate remote flame amplifier. The 95DSS3-1 version uses one 8-pin and one 12-pin screw-type quick-disconnect electrical connector and can be commissioned through an optional local keypad/display or compatible wireless handheld commissioning equipment. Multiple programmable files, adjustable sensor gain, selectable flame flicker frequencies, and automatic setup functions allow the scanner to discriminate the target flame in boilers, furnaces, kilns, incinerators, power-generation equipment, and complex multi-burner installations.

Key Features:

  • Dual UV and IR Detection: Combines solid-state ultraviolet and infrared sensors for flexible flame detection and discrimination.
  • Integrated Flame Processing: Amplification, flame evaluation, safety determination, and switching functions are incorporated directly into the scanner.
  • Electronic Self-Checking: Continuously supervises scanner operation without requiring an external mechanical shutter system.
  • SIL 3 Functional Safety: Designed and certified for demanding safety-related flame detection applications.
  • Two Flame Relays: Provides two independently programmable SPDT flame relay outputs with adjustable ON and OFF thresholds.
  • Dedicated Fault Relay: Includes a separate fault relay for scanner diagnostic and safety-status signaling.
  • Dual 4–20 mA Outputs: Two analog outputs provide flame-strength information to PLC, DCS, monitoring, or combustion-control systems.
  • Programmable Flame Discrimination: Provides 21 selectable flame flicker frequencies and adjustable UV/IR sensor gain for target-flame recognition.
  • Four Setpoint Files: Stores four independently selectable programmable configuration files for different operating conditions or fuels.
  • AutoTune Function: Assists commissioning by automatically establishing appropriate flame-detection parameters from observed flame conditions.
  • Dual Quick Disconnects: The 95DSS3-1 incorporates one 8-pin and one 12-pin screw-type electrical quick-disconnect.
  • Hazardous Location Capability: Approved for applicable Class I, Division 2 and Class II, Division 2 industrial locations.

The 95DSS3-1 delivers the reliability and precision required for integrated flame detection, flame discrimination, safety supervision, and combustion-system monitoring in demanding industrial burner applications.
