The HE800FOX404, developed by Horner Automation, serves as a base/hub I/O system within the HE800 SmartStack system framework. This system is characterized by its robust bus extension capabilities, leveraging highly noise-immune, cost-effective plastic fiber technology. It incorporates a plastic/glass converter, enabling transmission distances of up to 1500 meters, and accommodates up to 20 SmartStack modules.
The base/hub supports various I/O layouts, including Star, Daisy-chain, or Combination configurations, offering flexibility in system design and implementation. Each SmartStack FOX cable segment can extend up to 10 meters, with a constraint that no base/hub should exceed a distance of 30 meters from the OCS. These cables are available in 5 standard lengths: 0.5 m, 1 m, 2 m, 5 m, and 10 m, and are constructed of plastic fiber, featuring a Toslink connection, a minimum bend radius of 1.25 mm (1 inch), and a cable diameter of 2 mm. The type of fiber optic cable utilized is EIAJ RC-5720 (RC).
Physically, the HE800FOX404 measures 108 mm in height, 168.3 mm in width, and has a mounting depth of 119.4 mm. It operates on a primary power supply of 9-30 VDC with a maximum power draw of 400 mA. The mounting orientation options include both vertical and horizontal placements, with the provision that if horizontally mounted, the nameplate must face towards the bottom.
