The IC200EBI001 is a Genius Network Interface Unit (NIU) from the VersaMax Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. This module is manufactured by Emerson automation, formerly by GE Fanuc. This module functions as an Genius slave module, hosting and controlling I/O modules for implementing distributed I/O architecture. It has Two (2) Genius bus terminals for main bus connection (upper terminal) and redundancy terminal (lower terminal). It supports up to 38.4 Kbaud transmission, hosting up to Eight (8) per rack and maximum of Eight (8) racks. It supports 128 bytes of input and output per scan, each; Discrete input memory of 1024 points; Discrete output memory of 1024 bytes; Analog input memory of 128 bytes and analog output memory of 128 bytes.

The IC200GBI001 can accommodate a high number of I/O points, specifically, up to 1024 points for Discrete Inputs; 1024 Discrete outputs; 128 bytes of analog analog input memory and 128 bytes of analog output memory. This module can manage scanning of 128 bytes of network input per scan and 128 bytes of output per scan. It has a power consumption of 250 mA @ 4VDC and 10 mA @ 3.3 mA.
The IC200GBI001 is compatible for use with a variety of controller systems as Genius protocol is supported by previous and modern controller platforms. Compatible control systems include Series 90-70 and PACSystem RX7i and PACSystem RX3i. Appropriate firmware revisions must be loaded to both the controller and the IC200GBI001 Genius Network Interface Module.
