Information About IC3600LIBB1C1B
The first of the Speedtronic steam/gas turbine management series developed by General Electric starting in the 1960s, the Speedtronic line has since grown to include the MKIV through the MKVIe. And yet these two original systems are still in use around the globe due to GE’s original decision to focus on creating a lasting, reliable, adaptable system to manage their heavy-duty turbines. The MKI and MKII are adaptable for use on systems from single unit 4000 hp turbines up to full power stations rated to 400 Mw combined cycles.
The IC3600LIBB1C1B functions as an Input Buffer Card. It has several bits of information printed on its surface, including the ‘GE USA’ trademark logo, the numbered codes 68A988162, 006/03, 003/02, and 002/03, as well as the markings STAR and ADS. The board has been numbered by fives on one edge, from one to fifty-one.
The IC3600LIBB1C1B contains many components but very few component designators. For example, the board holds two lines of transistors, nine transistors per line. However, the board only carries the “Q1” and “Q2” designators, as each line is marked as though it were a single component. The board is built with ten capacitors, including one polyester vinyl capacitor and nine aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The latter are all marked “C1” while the first is marked “C2.” Resistors are placed in lines on the board and also tend to have more than one resistor per designator.
The board communicates with the rest of the system through wiring connected to fifty-one pins attached to one side of the IC3600LIBB1C1B. The board is numbered underneath these pins.
