The first of the gas/steam turbine management series released by General Electric for their Speedtronic line, the MKI and MKII have now been in use for over four decades each. These systems have been used in temperatures from plus to minus 50 degrees Celsius in all kinds of environments to manage large power systems, marine drives, remote pumping stations, and many other kinds of heavy-duty turbine set-ups. It is because of their reliability, scalability, and adaptability that so many of these systems are still in use today even after GE has moved forward with other more technologically advanced systems for turbine management, like the Mark V and Mark VIe.

The IC3600LINA1B carries several bits of information on its surface. This includes the codes 002/05, 006/06, “REH,” and 68A989076. The GE USA logo appears close to the center of the board, and the board ID number is on one edge. The board has been numbered on both sides of twenty-six metal pins. On the interior side of these pins, the numbers run from one to sixteen, and outside they jump by fives or tens from one to fifty-one.

The IC3600LINA1B has sixteen red light emitting diodes. Each diode is marked + and - on its through-hole wires. The board has sixteen transistors, forty-nine resistors, one diode, and one capacitor. With the exception of “R4,” resistors are marked as if a line of sixteen is a single component. Transistors are marked as a single component. The single capacitor on the board is marked as “C4.”
