Description 

The GE Fanuc IC693CPU363 is a Series 90-30 Processor module. This module is a CPU 363 module with single slot width, processor speed of 25 MHz with typical scan rate of 0.22 ms per 1K of logic for Boolean contacts. The IC693CPU363 is manufactured by GE Fanuc. This module is a controller from the Series 90-30 of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This controller is responsible for executing the user program stored within its user memory as well as managed communication exchanges between compatible devices such as programming workstations, Human Machine Interface (HMI), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Databases and other 3rd party hardware and devices.

The IC693CPU363 features a 80386EX processor with clock speed of 25 MHz and typical scan rate of 0.22 ms per 1K of logic for Boolean contacts. The embedded memory of this controller amounts to 240KB which is internally partitioned to accommodate different registers and internal functions. It has Two (2) serial ports, One (1) port having a physical interface of RJ45 while the other port having a 15-pin sub-D connector, both supporting RS232 and RS485 communication standards. It also has a tertiary RS485 port which is situated on the power supply. All these ports allow download, upload of user program, perform commissioning tasks and fine tuning of the program. These ports operate independently and may be configured for simultaneous operation to accommodate other data exchange functions such as communication with visualization components. Other communication protocols supported by the IC693CPU363 are Ethernet, FIP, Profibus, GBC, GCM, GCM+ option modules.

The IC693CPU363 is a single slot module. It is capable of handling up to Eight (8) baseplates, including the local baseplate to which the IC693CPU363 is installed. Up to Seven (7) remote or distributed I/O is supported by the IC693CPU363.

Three built-in serial ports are available on the IC693CPU363 CPU module. The serial port that is accessible through the power supply connector supports both SNP/SNPX slave protocols. This serial port has a 15-pin D-type female connector which can be accessed by opening the hinged door on the right front of the power supply. This serial port can be used for connecting to a PC that is running programming software or a GE Fanuc hand-held programmer. Serial Ports 1 and 2 support the SNP/SNPX master/slave and RTU slave protocols. Optional Ethernet and Profibus communication modules are available and can be used with the IC693CPU363 CPU module. The IC693CPU363 module supports the periodic subroutine feature. In addition to the user RAM, the IC693CPU363 CPU module also supports Flash memory which is used for storing the CPU firmware. With firmware Release 9.0, the module also supports floating point math.
