The IC697BEM713 is a Bus Transmitter Module (BTM) designed by GE Fanuc for the 90-70 Series. It serves as an expansion module from the main CPU rack, accommodating additional modules, with a capacity of up to seven added IC697 PLC racks. Featuring a high-performance parallel programming function, the IC697BEM713 offers seamless integration into existing systems.

Ease of configuration is a key attribute of this BTM, eliminating the need for DIP switches during setup. Housed in a single slot, the module is equipped with two connectors: a top connector for linking to the programming device and a bottom connector for daisy-chained arrangement via Bus Receiver Modules (BRMs) to expansion racks.

Configuration of the bus transmitter module is facilitated through MS-DOS or Windows programming software configuration functions.

The IC697BEM713 module incorporates three status LEDs for user monitoring. The top MODULE OK LED illuminates when the CPU software completes BTM configuration and has successfully polled each system expansion rack. Conversely, it deactivates if these conditions are not met. The middle Programmer Port Enabled LED indicates communication between the programmer and the PLC, blinking or showing ON when active and OFF when inactive. The bottom Expansion Port Enabled LED signals the status of the expansion bus, blinking ON during communication with Bus Receiver Modules and OFF otherwise. These LEDs provide valuable insights into the operational status of the port and/or module, ensuring efficient system monitoring and troubleshooting.
