IC697CPM925 | GE Fanuc Single-Slot PLC CPU

The IC697CPM925 is a single-slot PLC CPU manufactured by GE Automation, designed specifically for real-time control of industrial machinery. It facilitates communication with I/O and "smart option" modules through a rack-mounted connection backplane. Configuration is supported via MS-DOS or software applications compatible with legacy operating systems such as Windows 95 and Windows NT. 

Equipped with a 64MHz 80486DX2 microprocessor, the IC697CPM925 achieves rapid floating point decimal calculations, operating at speeds as fast as 0.4 microseconds per Boolean function. This CPU accommodates up to 8K analog I/O and a flexible mix of 12K inputs and outputs, catering to diverse industrial automation needs. 

The IC697CPM925 supports various modules, including discrete and analog I/O from the IC697 family, IC660 and IC661 I/O modules, and multiple coprocessor and communications modules. It provides up to one megabyte of user memory, sustained by an integrated lithium CMOS battery that also maintains the device's calendar and clock functions. The firmware for its operating system is stored in flash memory, although it does not retain user information. Firmware updates are conveniently executed without disassembly or EPROM replacement; instead, users connect the device to a compatible computer, insert a firmware floppy disk, and initiate the update using the appropriate Loader software.
