IS215VCMIH1B | General Electric VMI Communication Board Mark VI

The IS215VCMIH1B, manufactured by General Electric (GE), functions as a VCMI Bus Master Controller within the Mark VI system, a component of the Speedtronic management systems for gas and steam turbines. The Mark VI represents one of the final iterations in the Speedtronic series, designed to enhance turbine efficiency through integrated backup controls and advanced system management. 

The IS215VCMIH1B serves as a communication interface for the system control network, known as IONet, and facilitates communication between the controller and the associated Input/Output boards. It also manages the identification (ID) of all boards within its rack and their respective terminal boards. 

The board features a single-slot faceplate equipped with various components. The upper portion of the faceplate includes three LED indicators labeled “Run,” “Fail,” and “Status.” Below these indicators are a push-button reset switch and a serial port. Beneath the serial port, a set of LED indicators is labeled collectively as “Module,” with individual LEDs marked 8, 4, 2, and 1. Additional LED indicators include those labeled R, S, and T, and TX, RX, and CD. The faceplate also includes an IONet 10Base2 port for network connectivity. The faceplate is secured to the board using three screw connections.
