It is intended for use with TeSys U starter controllers, particularly when inserted into advanced power bases such as LUB120, LUB320, and LUB380. 

This unit offers comprehensive protection and diagnostic features for motor operation. It ensures full protection for motors within the rated current range of 1.25A to 5A, with adjustable settings for rated current (Ir). The overload tripping class is set at 10, with short-circuit protection activated at 13 times the maximum rated current (Irmax), and overcurrent protection at 14.2 times the rated current.

The overload tripping is classified as class 10, with short-circuit protection activated at 13 times the maximum rated current (Irmax), and overcurrent protection at 14.2 times the rated current. 

Additional protective measures include safeguards against phase loss and insulation faults, though the latter exclusively protects equipment. The unit also incorporates a thermal overload alarm, which can be utilized locally via a LUFDA module or remotely using a LULC module. 

For testing purposes, the LUCB05BL is equipped with a test push button capable of simulating overload scenarios. Control of the starter is facilitated by a 24V DC voltage input, controlled through terminals A1/A2 located in the power base.
