The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation N-5630-2-H04AA servo motor is a brushless servo motor with a high torque to size ratio and with a high energy ring magnet rotor. It is part of the Allen-Bradley N Series of servo motors in the Bulletin 1398 line of motors and drives. The N-5630-2-H04AA brushless servo motor comes with a 24 Volts DC holding brake. It has a voltage rating of 230 Volts AC and a continuous torque rating of 30 pounds on an inch. The N-5630-2-H04AA brushless servo motor’s typical applications include web processing, material handling, and robotics applications.

The Allen-Bradley N-5630-2-H04AA is an N-series servo motor. The motor has a standard encoder line count of 2000 and a standard flange. The N-5630-2-H04AA has an optional 24 Volts DC brake, a size 56 frame, and a motor winding of 230 Volts AC. Since the N-5630-2-H04AA, together with other servo motors, is meant to drive machinery, it must be controlled and not directly interfaced with power supplies. Servo motors, including the N-5630-2-H04AA, cannot be used with thyristor drives. The N-5630-2-H04AA has a 0.3 N-m per Krpm damping and a 1.3 N-m friction torque.

For the N-5630-2-H04AA, the feedback and power connectors are not on the motor but on the flying lead end. The inertia rating for the N-5630-2-H04AA is 9.044 Kg cm2 while the motor length is 199 millimeters. Servo motors in the N-5630 series, including the N-5630-2-H04AA, use the KPSE02E14-5P-A71 power connector which has 5 pins [3-phase (R, S, T), one grounded, and one open]. Additionally, the encoder used with the N-5630-2-H04AA has an operating voltage of 5 Volts DC and a supply current of 300 mA. The encoder is factory calibrated and it should not be calibrated by the users. As with other N-5630 servo motors, the N-5630-2-H04AA is compatible with the 0041-5071 shaft seal kit. The shaft seals should be lubricated to minimize wear. Connections to the N-5630-2-H04AA are made using straight or right-angled connectors which also provide environmental sealing. The 9101-1557 and the 9101-1698 motor power connectors also provide shield termination capabilities. Although the N-5630-2-H04AA has a maximum speed of 4000 Revolutions Per Minute, it has a lower load capacity than the N-5637-2-H00AA servo motor.
