Product Description P/N: RR9
Description
General Electric's RR9 solenoid relay switch features an isolated pilot contact and is the recommended replacement part for older, discontinued GE pilot light relays. Featuring 5 six-inch low voltage leads with a new plug-in connector, this mechanical latching relay uses momentary 24 volt switch pulses to open and close line voltage circuits. These low voltage switch control relays can also be used as replacements in vintage Bryant and Sierra systems.

Information About RR9
The GE RR9 relay is engineered as a maintained-contact SPST low-voltage control relay used to open and close 120–277V lighting circuits through momentary 24V AC pulses. This updated relay includes an isolated pilot contact, protecting internal components and ensuring long operational life even under frequent switching conditions. Its 5-lead wiring harness—with two yellow leads and black/red/blue control leads—supports both modern plug-in systems and older installations by allowing the plug end to be removed when needed.
Key Features:
- Mechanical Latching Design: Maintains load state without continuous power, minimizing energy use and heat buildup.
- Momentary 24V AC Operation: Uses low-voltage pulses to reliably open or close 120–277V lighting circuits.
- Universal Replacement Capability: Directly replaces GE RR4, RR6, RR8, RR9, and compatible Bryant/Sierra relays.
- Isolated Internal Contacts: Protects the relay coil and increases longevity under frequent switching cycles.
- Flexible Installation: Includes five 6-inch leads with plug connector; plug can be removed for older systems.
- Knockout Mount Form Factor: Fits standard 1/2-inch knockout with rugged cylindrical housing for tight spaces.
- Durable Construction: Operates in any position and withstands 0–60°C environments with up to 95% humidity.
- UL / CSA Certified: Meets safety standards for commercial lighting control systems.
The RR9 delivers the reliability and precision required for long-term low-voltage control of commercial lighting circuits.
