Information About WPC 2000
The WPC 2000 provides precise press operation and operator safety for part-revolution presses by using resolver-based crankshaft tracking, eliminating the need for mechanical rotary limit switches. Its resolver generates real-time angle signals to determine crank position, enhancing accuracy for stopping and stroke control. The system supports full integration with ancillary equipment, operator stations, and safety systems such as Shadow® light curtains.
Equipped with a bright six-digit LED display, the WPC 2000 shows crank angle, press speed, error codes, and diagnostics. Standard features include an internal brake monitor, Interrupted Stroke handling, nine customized status codes, micro-inch mode for precise setup, and a 90° stop-time test. It also allows connectivity with SmartPAC® 2 or SmartPAC PRO systems for enhanced automation. Optional features include auxiliary E-stop output relays, programmable cam switches, foot/one-hand control, and auto-compensated top stop (ACTS).
Key Features:
- Resolver-Based Operation: Accurately tracks crankshaft angle in real time without rotary limit switches.
- Interrupted Stroke Recovery: Switches to safe mode upon emergency stop and automatically reverts after reset.
- Brake Monitor: Checks top-stop performance on every cycle with stop-time limit and warning LEDs.
- Custom Status Inputs: Nine programmable codes, including two cross-checked pairs for safety functions.
- Micro-Inch Feature: Allows precision control of valve opening time for fine setup on high-speed presses.
- Error Code Diagnostics: Two-digit LED codes identify specific processor and failure type (E, F, H).
- Lockout Mode: Prevents restart until faults are acknowledged and reset, supporting OSHA safety requirements.
- 90° Stop-Time Test: Verifies system stopping distance in compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Dual Processor Architecture: Separate logic/control processors with independent power supplies for redundancy.
- SmartPAC Compatibility: Integrates with SmartPAC® 2 or PRO for enhanced automation and job management.
The WPC 2000 ensures safe, compliant press operation with modular expandability, system diagnostics, and high-speed press compatibility, improving both productivity and protection.
